Michael Adam Prothe

Michael Adam Prothe, 23, of Wymore, NE, died Monday, October 4, 2010 following a traffic accident near Wymore. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Friday, October 8 at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. Chaplin Nelson Nissley officiated. The musicians were Shawn Ames and Brian McGuire. The pallbearers were Ron Prothe, John Estes, Justin Musil, Cody Inderlied, Kurtis Inderlied and Steve DeGraeve. The honorary pallbearers were Justin Welch and Justin Sherrill. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Michael was born on August 12, 1987 at Paola, KS. the son of Terri Brown and Ron Prothe. He graduated from Marysville High School in 2005. He was a corrections officer at Tecumseh, NE, and also served in the U.S. Army Reserve. Michael was member of the American Legion Post #2 at Tecumseh. He enjoyed playing video games, wrestling, football, chess club, bowling, softball, golf and running cross country. Survivors include his parents, Ron and Kim Prothe, Marysville; mother, Terri Brown, Osawatomie, KS; son, Connor Prothe, Marysville; brother, Justin Welch, Hillsdale, KS; sisters, Rebekah Adolph, Kansas City, MO, Nichole Welch, Marysville; grandparents, Lee and Dixie Adolph, Marysville, Wally and Rose Mayo, Osawatomie. His grandparents, Kathy Prothe and Larry Keast, preceded him in death. Memorial contributions will be designated later and can be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
