Virginia C. Saville, 92, of Marysville, died Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 28, at the First Christian Church in Marysville. Burial in the Fairmont Cemetery, Blue Rapids. Virginia was born May 30, 1918 in Chicago, Ill. to Alfred and Willa Lee, the first of their two children. She attended Chicago schools until she was twelve years old. The family then moved to Blue Rapids, KS. where Virginia continued her education. Virginia married Oliver (Red) E. Saville of Blue Rapids, on July 20, 1936 and they moved to Marysville after their third daughter was born. Virginia lived quietly in Marysville among family and friends. She enjoyed raising her three girls and attending their school activities. Both Red and Virginia had a passion for gardening, it was a hobby they shared for many years. They also loved fishing and vacationed in Arkansas often to enjoy the fishing sport there. Virginia and her daughters were members of the First Christian Church and were involved in many church activities. She made a career taking care of children for other families, this was a great love of her life, as she adored children. She never worked outside of the home other than her babysitting. Her husband Red was employed at West Gate Service Station most of his working history. Virginia is survived by three daughters, Roseanne Slupianek, Marysville; Patricia Weirs, Pickrell, NE.; and Sandra Rayburn, Marysville, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Red on July 22, 1981, her sister Helen Gibbany, and a great-grandson.
