Emma L. Hoeflicker, 96, of Marysville, Kansas, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. A rosary service was held at 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 2 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 3, at the church. Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated. Bob Welch played the organ while Ron and Fran Grauer sang “Here I Am, Lord”, “Precious Lord Take My Hand”, “Oh, Lord I Am Not Worthy”, “You Are Mine” and “How Great Thou Art”. The pallbearers were Bob Voet, J.I. Hornung, Bob Sasser, Patrick Bruna, Bruce Jacobitz, Michael Jacobitz and Jacob Jacobitz. Burial was in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery. Emma was born on September 13, 1914 at Hodge, Missouri, the daughter of Oscar and Goldie Belle Ray Pangborn. She graduated from high school at Dover, Missouri, where she was the Valedictorian of the class. On July 25, 1932 she married Leonard L. Hoeflicker. She was a homemaker and also worked as a sales clerk for the Coast-to-Coast Store and Entines Department Store in Lexington, Missouri. They spent time living at Lake of the Ozarks moving to Marysville in 1976. She was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church. Emma enjoyed gardening, yard work, fishing, making fish bait, mushroom hunting and she was an avid Kansas University basketball fan. Survivors include her son Herbie Hoeflicker and wife Ruby, Edwards, MO; three granddaughters, three great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard, on August 24, 1985; and sisters, Grace, Gertrude and Berdina. Memorials may be made to St. Gregory's Catholic School and can be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
