Uarda “Ardie” Koll, 89, of Beatrice and formerly of Marysville, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at BryanLGH Medical Center in Lincoln. A service was held at 10 a.m., November 20, 2010, at the First Christian Church, Marysville. Rev. Jerry Zanker officiated. Tam Johnson accompanied Pat Bredding as she sang “Wind Beneath My Wings” and “Old Rugged Cross.” Private burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. The honorary pallbearers were Gene Nelms, Phil Carvalho, Dawn Carvalho, Tige Koll, Mark Hoffman, Aaron Hoffman, Evan Hoffman, Paige Uarda Gratzer, Lindsey Carvalho, Keely Koll and Talan Koll. Uarda was born January 27, 1921, at Marysville, the daughter of Dan T. and Iva Carey Smith. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1939. On May 11, 1941 she married Dale Koll. She was a homemaker and the family had a farming operation. From 1951 until 1958 she worked for Boeing, Wichita, doing payroll. She was a member of First Christian Church and enjoyed cooking, traveling and playing cards. Survivors include her husband; son, Larry Koll, Marysville; sister, Margaret Nelms; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Duane Smith. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Christian Church, Marysville, and sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
