Arvila J. Wolfe, 85, of Frankfort, Kansas passed away Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Hanover Hospital in Hanover, Kansas. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 22, at the First Presbyterian Church in Frankfort. The Rev. Marilyn Wullschleger officiated. Tam Gordon played the organ while Pat Breeding sang "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art". The pallbearers were Greg Marples, Russ Dittmer, Victor Blecharczyk, John Banister, Wayne Kruse and Nick Fehr. Burial was in the Frankfort City Cemetery. Arvila was born November 25, 1925 at Table Rock, Nebraska, the daughter of Joseph and Frances (Clema) Wilcox. She graduated from Pawnee High School in 1943 and worked at Sawyer Clothing and sold AVON. Arvila also helped care for her mother. On December 14, 1963 she married Gene Wolfe at Pawnee City. They made their home in Frankfort. Arvila enjoyed rug hooking, crafts, tole painting and cooking. She enjoyed feeding the Community Theatre for many years. She was a member of Odd Fellows, Blue Valley Rug Hookers, Pony Express Rug Hooking Work Shop and MACT. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Gene; daughter, Carla Wolfe and husband, Greg Marples, Marysville; and sister, Darlene Turnbull, Pawnee City, Nebraska. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
