Dr. Richard E. Bramlage, 74, died December 15, 2022, at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. Services are pending. Richard was born on July 5, 1948, at Marysville to William and Mabel (Cohorst) Bramlage. In 1966, he graduated from Frankfort High School. FFA was his best activity, winning many contests including district crop judging, land judging, farm mechanics, dairy judging, and the State Horticulture Contest. He also received the State Farmer Degree. After high school, Richard attended Kansas State University Veterinary School and graduated in 1973. After college, Richard lived and practiced veterinary medicine in Pasadena, California, for more than 25 years, until he was shot and then returned to the area in 2004. After his return, he worked at Marysville Livestock for a short time. Richard raised shorthorn cattle and liked racehorses, cats, dogs, chickens and rabbits. He enjoyed games that challenged his mind, such as bridge, chess and crosswords. Welding and woodworking were also some of Richard’s hobbies. Richard is survived by two brothers, Bill Bramlage, Marysville, and Charles Bramlage, St. Joseph, MO. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.
