Alberta E. Violand

Alberta E. Violand, 95, of Frankfort, KS, died Monday, December 14, 2020 at Frankfort Community Care Home. Funeral services will be private. Alberta was born March 22, 1925 on a farm in the vicinity of Fostoria, KS. She graduated from Frankfort High School in 1944. After graduation she worked for the Kansas Power & Light in Junction City as a stenographer and cashier clerk. Alberta also worked at Acme Fast Freight in Kansas City, MO as an accounting clerk. She married Marion “Mert” J. Violand on March 28, 1946. They shared 49 years together until he preceded her in death on August 8, 1995. Alberta worked for Padden’s furniture store and funeral business in Frankfort for 6 years, and the State of Kansas Social and Rehabilitation Services for 16 years. She retired in 1994. Alberta was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church and Altar Society. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Koch, Axtell, Susan Boss, Marysville; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Dorothy Flood, Topeka, and Patty Ruetti, Frankfort. She was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Earl Lauer; sister, Wilma Cook; and grandson, Ronald Koch. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later.
