Allan George Feil, 61, of Marysville, died August 6, 2024, at Lincoln, NE.
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m., Monday, August 12 at Kinsley Mortuary. Visitation began at 10 a.m. at the mortuary.
Burial was in Zion/Mt. Calvary Cemetery at Herkimer.
Allan was born on April 22, 1963, to William and Lerena (Koeneke) Feil in Marysville, KS. As an infant, he was baptized and later confirmed at the age of 14.
He attended Marysville High School and graduated in 1982. In 1987, Allan joined the Twin Valley program. Pauline Hatesohl taught Allan to read. He loved to sing and had an amazing voice. His uncle George Feil left him a trust so that he could participate and attend entertainment events as he wished and he enjoyed many musical presentations from Branson to Nashville.
Allan also enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics. He competed in two events, speed walking and bowling. He rarely missed church, but if he had bowling practice, he reluctantly gave up church for that practice. Allan was a member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Greenleaf and participated often in services as a lector. In 2023, Allan became a member at St. Mark Lutheran church in Waterville. Many Greenleaf and Waterville church friends will miss Allan's kind face and lovely voice as he enjoyed singing the hymns.
Outstanding memories were made on two trips Allan took to Oregon. The first trip was a flight to Portland, OR, to visit his Uncle George. The following year Allan, Marshall Melcher, Curtis Melcher and Roger Crome drove to Oregon to mourn the passing of Uncle George and visit his grave.
Allan also enjoyed other trips with the Melchers in a camper. They visited the Grand Canyon, Pike's Peak and the Black Hills to see the Crazy Horse Monument. He also took a trip to New Orleans with Curtis Melcher and saw his farm in Texas.
A memorial fund has been established to Twin Valley Developmental Services, Inc. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
