Amanda L. Bishop, 61, of Waterville, KS, died August 29, 2022, at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. Visitation was Friday, September 2, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Axtell-Landreth Funeral Home in Axtell. A graveside funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 3, at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Axtell. Robert Boyle officiated. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Amanda was born August 13, 1961, at Sunflower, IL, daughter of Clifford and Joan LaVon (Sevey) Peterson, Jr. From Sunflower the family moved to Lawrence, KS, then Halstead, KS, then Baileyville, KS, where she attended middle school. They moved to Axtell where she attended high school. She graduated from high school in Hanover, IL. In April 1982, she married Kenton “Kent” E. Bishop. They lived in Wichita, KS, where she was a seamstress at David’s Bridal in Wichita, KS. She enjoyed sewing, painting, gardening and going on random road trips with her husband. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenton “Kent” E. Bishop on July 22, 2013; sister, Adeana LaVon Perry; and brother, Scott Clifford Peterson. Survivors include her brother, Stephen (Jennifer) Peterson, Garden City, KS; three nieces and four nephews. A memorial fund has been established to the Shriners Hospital. Contributions may be sent in care of the Axtell-Landreth Funeral Home.
