Arlene Cecilia Crawford (nee Huerter), 85, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away at her home on December 1, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family.
Born on February 7, 1939, in Marysville, Kansas, Arlene was the daughter of Albert V. Huerter and Leona M. Huerter (nee Kienlen). She graduated from St. Gregory's Catholic School in 1953 and Marysville High School in 1957. Arlene dedicated many years to her career as an administrative assistant, working diligently with the Kansas State Department, the Oklahoma Conference of Churches, and the University of Oklahoma, before retiring in 2006.
In 1962, she married Richard Lee Crawford. Arlene was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, cherished for her passion for genealogy, which enriched her family's history, as well as her love for travel that took her to various parts of the world.
She is survived by her four children: Angela Crawford (Paul Zahrai), Jennifer Wood (Garrett), Amy Farris (Bruce), and Andrew Crawford (Lisa); along with fourteen grandchildren: Mandy Little (Rich), Kyle Gay (Ashley), Grayson Gay (Reyna), Julia Gay (Nick), Caleb Farris (Candi), Shiloh James (Tye), Hayden Crawford, Hailey Crawford, Holden Crawford, Hunter Crawford, Houston Crawford, Hannah Crawford, Lily Zahrai, and Lucy Zahrai; and nine great-grandchildren. Arlene is also survived by her siblings Melvin Huerter, Alberta Jaeckel (Klaus), DG Huerter (Tina), and a dear family friend and companion, Frank Ribaudo, as well as many nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Richard Huerter; and her sister, Rosemary Huerter Voet.
Visitation took place on Sunday, December 15, from 5-7 p.m. at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Marysville, followed by a rosary service at 7 p.m. A funeral mass celebrating Arlene's life was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 16, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, officiated by Father Quentin Schmitz. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
