Arthur Eugene Fincham

Arthur Eugene “Gene” Fincham, 93, Blue Rapids, KS, died Sunday, February 13, 2022, at his home. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 17, at the United Presbyterian Church in Blue Rapids. Rev. Shannon Borgmann officiated. Burial was at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Blue Rapids. Gene was born June 17, 1928, in Blue Rapids to Jack and Myrtle (Sutton) Fincham. After graduating high school he served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army, as a radio operator. When he was honorably discharged, Gene returned home and worked in the materials division for KDOT. He was a member of the American Legion and the United Presbyterian Church, serving as a trustee and elder. Gene enjoyed golfing, woodworking and was an Arizona snowbird. On March 15, 1954, Gene was married to D. Jeannette Jenkins at Newkirk, OK. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his parents; two daughters, Patricia “Pat” DeMelo and Pamela Fincham; and two sisters, Louise Fincham and Lois Moehlman. Survivors include children, Jeb (Pam) Fincham and Penni (Richard) Meisel; sisters, Lola Thompson and Lova Kraft; six grandchildren, Benjamin Deavours, Sophie Meisel, Jordan DeMelo, Theodore Meisel, Joshua Fincham and Nicole Fincham; and seven great grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to the United Presbyterian Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
