Betty Jean Craig, 64, of Marysville, Kan., died Tuesday, July 10 at the Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville.Visitation was Sunday, July 15, from 1 to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville.A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Monday, July 16 at Immanuel (Stateline) Lutheran Church, north of Marysville. Rev. Suzanne How officiated. Mary Lou Retchless played the organ while the congregation sang “Borning Cry”, “Children of the Heavenly” and “Here I Am Lord”.The pallbearers were Michael Frank, Kenny Wetter, David Winquist, Tom Vogelsberg, Richie Williams and Matthew Ekstrum.Burial was in Salem Lutheran Cemetery near Axtell.Betty was born August 7, 1953 at Axtell, Kan., to Einar and Ruby (Olson) Johnson. On August 30, 1953 she was baptized at Salem Lutheran Church. In May 1966, she was confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church. She attended grade school in Vliets and Vermillion. In 1971, she graduated from Frankfort High School.On August 10, 1974 she married David Craig at Salem Lutheran Church near Axtell. They later divorced.Betty worked at Country General, Grandview, Boogaarts, J.C. Penney, and for the last sixteen years at Valley Vet Supply until she got sick.She enjoyed going to the movies, visiting with friends on Facebook, and playing cards.Survivors include her two sons, Kyle Craig, North Platte, Neb., and Cary Craig, Marysville; sister, Donna Bramhall, Marysville; brother, William Johnson, Emporia, Kan.; and five grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; and infant sister, Linda Johnson.A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.
