Betty Lou Dowd, 76, Marysville, formerly of Frankfort, died October 29, 2021 at her home. Visitation will be at 1 p.m., Monday, November 1, 2021 at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, November 1, 2021 at Frankfort City Cemetery in Frankfort. Rev. Jim Akins will officiate. Pallbearers will be Cole Grote, Michael Thomas, Dewey Smith Jr., Maddox Smith, Kyle Thomas, and John Dowd Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Messiah Wooten, Lathan Dowd, Keighton Dowd and Russ Washington. Betty was born December 21, 1944 in Hutchinson, KS to Chauncey Otto and Mary Jane (Craig) Dowd. She worked at Frankfort Care Home and retired after 40 years there. She resided in Frankfort after retirement until moving to Marysville two years ago. Betty loved doing search-a-word, reading, the Hallmark Channel, and spending time with family. She is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Kathy Dowd, Josephine Benteman, Shirley Smith, Clara Jefferies; and two brothers, George Dowd and Chauncey Dowd. Survivors include three daughters, Rose Trautloff, Virginia, NE, Joyce Slusser, Baldwin City KS, Beth Kinney, Marysville, KS; one sister, Sharon (Butch) Singleton, Blue Rapids; one brother, Hank (Wilma) Dowd, Holton; 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren with one more on the way, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
