Carol Eugene Bronaugh, age 81, of Frankfort, KS., passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at the Blue Valley Senior Living in Blue Rapids, KS. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the Frankfort City Cemetery. Snacks and refreshments will be served following the service at the American Legion in Frankfort. Carol was born on September 29, 1936 at Frankfort, to Loren and Mary (Farrant) Bronaugh.  After graduating from Frankfort High School in 1954, he served in the U.S. Army. Carol then returned home to attend college at Kansas State University in Animal Science and Horticulture. On January 5th, 1964, he married Creta K. Dittemore. They had 2 children, Troy and Amber. Early in their marriage they lived in Topeka, Ks. while he worked for Skinner’s Nursery and Munn’s Medical. They later moved back to his family farm, north of Frankfort, where he continued to farm and raise cattle with his dad, during that time he owned and operated Bronaugh Floral and Garden Center with his wife for 25 years. Along with working full time at Kansas State University for the Grounds Department. He took great pride in what the campus and complexes looked like. He was known on campus as the “Tree Doctor”. After retirement, he continued to mow lawns and attend to people’s horticulture needs. Carol was a man with a big heart, witty smile, and never knew when to slow down. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling with his family and friends. He was a member of the American Legion Post #181 in Frankfort. He is survived by his wife, Creta Bronaugh, of 54 years,  son, Troy Bronaugh of Frankfort, daughter, Amber Bronaugh of Frankfort, granddaughter Kala Bronaugh, brother, George (Jean) Bronaugh, of Mesa, Arizona, sister-in-laws, Beverly Bronaugh, of Lawrence, Ks. and Connie (Dave) Keck of Windsor, Colorado. Carol was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Mary, a brother, Robert Bronaugh, and a sister-in-law, Karen Zimmerman.
