Carol Ann Steinfeldt, 72, Hanover, died Monday, February 17, 2020 at Bryan East in Lincoln, NE. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 19, from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Hanover Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 20, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lanham. Rev. Elvin Crosby will officiate. Mae Nieman is the organist and the congregation will sing “Rock of Ages,” “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace.” Pallbearers are Jake Rutti, Mike Meyer, Kevin Slater, Russ Slater, Joe L’Ecuyer and Kevin Sherwin. Honorary pallbearers are Brayton Zeibig, Dominic Zeibig, Landon Zeibig and Trenton Steinfeldt. Burial will be in the Lanham Cemetery. Carol Ann was born on November 11, 1947 in Fairbury, NE to John Perry and Helen Margaret (Schroeder) Slater. She attended school in Fairbury and graduated from Fairbury High School. After high school, she attended Central College Wichita Tech, one year. On September 21, 1968, Carol married Douglas Zeibig. This union had three sons, David, Daniel and Damon. They later divorced. She married William Steinfeldt on August 1, 1980 and they had a son, Matthew. Carol Ann worked for the State of Nebraska, for a pie factory and for the Hanover Hospital as a Dietary Aide. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, sewing, playing cards, cooking and Nebraska Football. She especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents. Survivors include her husband, William; sons, David (Lisa) Zeibig, BonAqua, TN, Daniel (Nichole) Zeibig, Hallam, NE, Damon (Doreen) Zeibig, Hanover, Matthew (Nicole) Steinfeldt, Wilber, NE; brothers, Mike (Jan) Slater, Fairbury, NE, Donald (Bertie) Slater, Morrowville; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Cancer Society. Contributions may be sent in care of the Hanover Mortuary
