Clara Anna Ebeling, 95, Hanover, died Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Hanover. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 13 at St. John's Catholic Church in Hanover. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Clara was born to John and Pauline (Kubicek) Smetana on December 5, 1926 at rural Hanover. She attended school and graduated the 8th grade. Clara married Arthur Ebeling and were blessed with four children, Carol, Jerry, Judy and Dale. She enjoyed walking, tending to her flowers outside, and quilting. The detail in all her quilts was impeccable. She donated her time and quilts to raise funds for many non-profit organizations. She also enjoyed being a seamstress. She brought joy to many friends and family by making clothes, such as wedding dresses and other items. She spent much of her time helping others with her work and volunteer time at the Hanover Hospital. Preceding her in death were her parents; and sisters, Josephine Ebeling, Dorothy McGinley and Grace Luehring. Survivors include children, Carol (Marvin) Leners, Lincoln, NE, Jerry (Nancy) Ebeling, Raytown, MO, Judy (Jim) Laflin, Rock Port, MO and Dale Ebeling, Great Bend; sister, Helen Ray, Topeka; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Hanover Mortuary.
