Clarence A. Cohorst, 84, Marysville, died Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Marysville.Visitation was Monday, December 3, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., at Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.A rosary service was held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 4 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville.Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at St. Gregory's. Father Nathan Haverland officiated. Rosemary Forst played the organ while the congregation sang “Be Not Afraid”, “Amazing Grace”, “On Eagles Wings”, “You Are Mine” and “How Great Thou Art”.The pallbearers were Robert Cohorst, Keith Mohan, Randy Jones, Jacob Emerson, Zane Mohan and Jess Schoenberger.Burial was in the church cemetery. Clarence was born at Marysville on June 2, 1934, to Paul and Blanche (Reiter) Cohorst. He grew up and lived on the farm his whole life. Farming was his passion and he was blessed to be able farm his entire life. He loved being outdoors and at any given time, you could find him sitting on his porch admiring the view or with his friends drinking coffee. He loved his family, he was blessed with two daughters and three grandchildren. He thought the world of his brother George, a cousin Richard, who Clarence thought of as a brother, and his sister, Delores, who took care of him. Clarence had a heart of gold and a lovely soul. He will be missed by all. He was a member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother, George Cohorst. Survivors include his daughters, Nicole (Myles) Hanzlicek, Wetmore, and Ellen Chavez, Albuquerque, NM; companion, Kay Pacha; sister, Delores Mohan, Marysville; Richard (Fran) Cohorst, Lake City, FL; grandchildren, Colby Hanzlicek, Dierk Hanzlicek and Vadin Chavez; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
