Connie M. Kabriel

Connie M. Kabriel, 66, of Marysville, KS, died July 1, 2021, at her home. Visitation was held from 2 to 9 p.m., Friday, July 16 at Kinsley Mortuary. The family was there 5 to 7 p.m. to receive friends and celebrate her life. A memorial service for Ed and Connie was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the United Methodist Church in Marysville. Burial was in the Home City Cemetery. Connie was born January 5, 1955, at Onaga, KS, daughter of James and Alice (Wege) Parks. In 1973, she graduated from Marysville High School. On June 28, 1975, she married Edward “Ed” Kabriel at Frieden’s Lutheran Church in Home, KS. They lived in Home City for a couple years before moving to Marysville. Connie cooked at various restaurants and nursing homes. On May 1, 1997, she started cooking at the Marshall County Sheriff Department and later transferred to dispatching and cooking. She enjoyed her flowers and watching the birds and squirrels. Connie loved all her grandchildren and attending their activities and taking them to the pool. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Ed; one son, Richard (Maryann) Kabriel, Marysville; two daughters, Cassandra Kabriel and Tara Kabriel, both of Marysville; six siblings, Linda (Nick) Schmitz, Beattie, KS, Frankie Grund, Marysville, Doug Parks, Belleville, Tina (Kay) Parks, Lincoln, NE, Lisa (Jim) Griffith, Bern, KS, and Stacy (Ron) Wetter, Junction City, KS; and six grandchildren, Ross, Rhett, JJ, Sylvia, Nellie and Ambrosia.
