Darlene K. Landen-Post Barnes, 81, formerly of Oketo, died August 28, 2021, at Kansas City, KS. Visitation will be Thursday, September 2, 2021 from noon to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A funeral will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Oketo, KS. Darlene was born to James and Dorothy (Carpenter) Landen on September 3, 1939 in Oketo. She attended school in Barneston, NE until her senior year, graduating from Alma High School, Alma, KS. On May 6, 1957, she was united in marriage to Ralph G. Post. To this union three children were born, Greg, Vicki and William. They later divorced and she eventually married Don Barnes. Darlene worked in the food service industry; the latest was working for Ross’ Catering, Kansas City. She enjoyed the different family gatherings where she could spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She liked visiting her sister and nieces and nephews and with her brother when time allowed. Visiting with friends over coffee was also a favorite. She had a close relationship with God, whom she was ready to meet. Preceding her in death were her parents; and great granddaughter, Ryan M. Post. Survivors include children, Greg (Rena) Post, Blue Springs, NE, Vicki Post, Kansas City, William (Liz) Post, Lincoln, NE; brother, Charles (Annette) Landen, Lyman, SC; sister, Theresa (Corey) Spellmeier, Home; friend, Cedric Hampton; seven grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
