Darrell Cudney, 86, Marysville, died Friday, August 30, 2019 at Cambridge Place, Marysville. Visitation was Monday, September 2 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville. Rosary service was 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 3 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Father Nathan Haverland officiated. Congregational hymns were “Here I Am Lord,” “Prayer of St. Francis,” “Bread, Blessed and Broken,” “Song of Farewell” and “How Great Thou Art.” Pallbearers were Rick Cudney, Don Cudney, Leo Cudney, Jr., Mark Cudney, Fred Heiserman and Gary Heiserman. Burial was in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery. Darrell was born November 17, 1932 in Marysville to Leo H. and Minnie (Slama) Cudney. He was a graduate of Marysville High School. Darrell worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, first on the bridge crew and later as a clerk at the depot. Darrell flew planes, liked fishing, hunting and trapping. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Maas. She survives. Other survivors include his sister, Charlotte Heiserman, Lawrence; brother, Leo H. Cudney, Jr., Marysville; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother, Merle Cudney. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
