David M. Herrmann, 54, of Oketo, Kan., died April 23, 2018 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. Visitation was Wednesday, April 25, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family received friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m.A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 26 at the Marysville United Methodist Church. Rev. Dale Lewis officiated. Deb Landoll played the organ while Danielle Pishny sang "Amazing Grace” and the congregation sang “In the Garden”.The pallbearers were Andrew Cain, Gene Erdmann, Shane Hartner, Mark Bartley, Scott Feldhausen and Vince O’Toole, Jr.Burial was in the Oketo Cemetery.David was born September 18, 1963 at Palmdale, Cal., son of John and Vivian (Long) Herrmann. He started as a manager at Domino’s in Palmdale. Then moving to Colorado Springs, Colo., where he became an associate at Sam’s Club. Upon moving further east, he met Diane at the Colby, Kan., Walmart. His Walmart career spanned 22 years.On a cold and windy day on December 1, 2001, he married Diane Holle at the Selden Methodist Church in Selden, Kan.David had a love for gardening and spending time with his family. He went to barbeque contests with his family, Mel’s BBQ. He loved grilling as well.He was preceded in death by his father; uncle, George Launchbaugh; aunt, Carol Launchbaugh; and his faithful dog, Goldie.Survivors include his wife, Diane; daughter, Sara; mother, Vivian Herrmann, Dresden, Kan.; sister, Kelly (Adam) Smith, Hays, Kan.; nieces and nephews; and two dogs, Lola and Daisy.A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
