Debra L. Chapman

Debra L. Chapman, 67, of Marysville, KS, passed away March 3, 2023, at her home. Visitation was Thursday, March 9, from noon to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 10, at the Marysville Berean Church. Pastor Joel Barber officiated and Kim Oatney played the piano. The congregation sang "When We All Get to Heaven" and "Amazing Grace." Pat Olson sang "Jesus Is Walking with Me." Debra was born on November 8, 1955 in Tacoma, WA to Donald and Bonnie (Albright) Chapman. Her family moved and traveled a lot when she was a child, because her dad was in the military. In 1972, she met her husband and moved to Axtell. They later divorced. Debra raised her family in Oketo and moved to Marysville in 2005. She worked many years at the Beattie Meat Locker and as a cook at Cambridge Place. She loved to garden and can her produce. She also loved to bake. Debra was a member of the Berean Church and was involved in church bible study. She gave her life to God, many years ago and trusted in Him for all her needs with her health. Deb enjoyed visiting with nursing home residents and celebrated birthdays and holidays with her friends and family. She made sure to send cards for all occasions. Deb was a positive person and enjoyed people. She was so upbeat living her life even while dealing with her daily dialysis. Preceding her in death were her parents; and brother, Byron Chapman. Survivors include children, Bobby Goodwin, Brenda Gronemeyer; siblings, Mark (Pam) Chapman, Grand Island, NE, Christina (Michael) Rockford, Grand Island, NE, Paula (Michael) Vanderpool, Fullerton, NE, Eugene Chapman, Minnesota; four grandchildren; five nieces, four nephews and many great nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
