Delores J. “Dee” Griswold, 89, Marysville, died June 15, 2019 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. Visitation is Wednesday, June 19, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville.  Rev. Julie Shields will officiate.  Deborah Bruna will play the organ while Wayne Kruse sings “The Lord’s Prayer” and “On Eagles Wings”.  The congregation will sing “God Will Take Care of You”. The pallbearers will be Jason Ingersoll, Jeff Ingersoll, Heath Griswold, Brennen Price, Rick Tate, Bill Elder and Mike Christner. The honorary pallbearers will be Karen Ingersoll, Stefanie Ingersoll, Leslie Price, Brittany Tate, Lindsey Elder, Alissa Christner and Dolly Griswold. Burial will be in the Marysville City Cemetery. Dee was born March 13, 1930 near Frankfort, Kan., to Carl J. and Hulda (Roesch) Polson.  She attended rural grade school north of Frankfort and northwest of Beattie.  In 1948, she graduated from Marysville High School. On April 24, 1949 she married Charles Griswold at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville.  To this union three children were born, Cynthia, Douglas and Scott. Dee worked as a teacher’s assistant with special needs students, for several years.  A vocation she thoroughly enjoyed.   She baked and decorated many cakes for special occasions, for many people around the community.  Dee enjoyed playing bingo, ballroom dancing, and the K.C. Royals and K.U. Basketball.  She enjoyed embroidering, quilting; completing enough quilt blocks for seven queen size quilts, for her grandchildren. Dee was a member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ and taught Sunday school for several years.  She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Eagles and the Moose Lodge.  For twenty-four years, she and Charles served as host and tour guides with S/S Tours, traveling the U.S. and Canada. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, George Polson. Survivors include her husband, Charles; children, Cindy (Greg) Ingersoll, Douglas (Jacque) Griswold, and Scott (Sherilyn) Griswold, all of Marysville; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Richardson, Marysville, and Laura (Robert) Loaney, Cranberry, PA; brother-in-law, Robert (Willa) Griswold, Marysville; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two step great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. Dee was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She had a loving smile and lots of hugs and kisses.  She will surely be missed.
