Dennis Paul Cullimore, 74, Frankfort, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022 at Community Memorial Hospital in Marysville, KS. Graveside services was held at 2:00 Sunday November 6, 2022 with military honors at the Frankfort Cemetery. Reception followed at the Frankfort Legion Cabin. Paul was born November 22, 1947, the sixth child of Art and Nellie Rose Cullimore. He attended Frankfort Schools, where he excelled in athletics, graduating in 1965. After joining the National Guard in 1967 he was called up to active duty as U.S. Army in 1968 and served in Vietnam until honorably discharged in December of 1969. Utilizing the GI Bill, he enrolled in Fort Hays State University and majored in geology. After three years and his mother’s death he returned to Frankfort and was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad. On August 2, 1975 he married Janeice Watson and after their first anniversary they returned to FHSU where they both completed their degrees. He taught and coached in several schools, including Natoma, Bern, Centralia and Frankfort retiring from Frankfort in 2005. Paul loved playing sports and games, coaching sports and watching sports. He enjoyed carpentry, working in the garden and pickup rides with his beloved dog, Emma. Paul is survived by his wife, Janeice, sons Zach and wife Melissa and Sam and wife Stephanie, sister Ardell Chauza and husband Al, grandchildren Lysette, Connor, Luna, Quinn and Micah and mother-in-law Aladine Watson. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Herb and Dixon, sisters Martha and Sandra Sue, father-in-law Otis Watson and grandson Logan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in care of the Padden Funeral Chapel, 101 E 3rd, Frankfort, KS 66527 and will be given to the Frankfort VFW scholarship fund.
