Donna J. Pacha

Donna Jean Pacha, 81, Marysville, died Thursday, December 19, 2019 at her home. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Kinsley Mortuary. The family received friends from 2 to 4 p.m. A rosary service was held at 7 p.m., Thursday, December 26 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 27, 2019 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church.  Father Nathan Haverland officiated.  The musicians were Cindy Voet, Katherine Lauer and Wayne Kruse.  Music included “I Am the Bread of Life”, “You Are Mine”, “On Eagles Wings”, “Hail Mary, Gentle Woman”, “Ave Maria” and “How Great Thou Art”. Burial in the church cemetery. On May 26, 1938, Donna was born at Beatrice, NE to Clifford and Ella (Sabotka) Meyer. After graduation, Donna taught in Omaha, NE, a one room schoolhouse by Beatrice, St Gregory’s Catholic School and her own preschool for more than 18 years. Donna’s love for children was unparalleled. She dedicated her life to the children. Donna was united in marriage to Richard Pacha in Beatrice, NE. Nine children were born to this union. She was a member of St.Gregory’s Catholic Church. She was a devoted catholic and had strong religious convictions and was a member of the church choir. Spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, was extremely important to her. She loved a full house and every day seemed like a holiday at grandmas. Donna especially loved celebrating all the kids birthdays with a cake and candles, if possible. Donna had a passion for gardening and her flower beds. She loved taking care of her many daylilies, tulips and roseplants. The summer sun could never be warm enough and if she needed a break, you would find her with a good book and a cold Pepsi. Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Sarah Pacha; brothers, Larry Meyer, Harold Meyer; and sister, Caroline Etherton. Survivors include her husband, Richard; children, Jim (Natalie) Pacha, Marysville, Shelly (Brent) Weinland, Russell Springs, Peg (Ty) Henley, Valley Center, John Pacha, Marysville, Barb (Tim) Lange, Clifton, Matt Pacha, Marysville, Chris (Jamie) Jackson, Clay Center, Suzann (Bryce) Mongeau, Riley; sisters, Barbara (John) Reilly, Grand Island, NE, Marguerite Sterns, Boston, MA; brother, Jerry (Pat) Meyer, Beatrice, NE; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. A memorial fund is established and will be determined later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
