Drusilla Mae Price

June 20, 1954 — January 24, 2019

Drusilla “Dru” Mae Price, 64, of Home, Kan., passed away January 24, 2019 at her home after a hard-fought battle with ovarian cancer. Visitation was Thursday, January 31, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service was held 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 1, at the American Legion in Marysville. The pallbearers were Spencer Price, Skyler Price, Dustin Zutterman, Sander Zutterman, Tom Lehechka, Josh Lehechka, Le Martin, Dustin Martin and Greg Graham. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Dru was born June 20, 1954, to Anthony Patrick and Teresa Carol (Bach) Lehechka. She spent her early childhood days on a small farm near Walton, Neb., before the family moved to Lincoln, Neb., where she attended grade school. They later moved to Marysville and then to Home. In 1972, she graduated from Marysville High School. On February 3, 1973, she married James “Jim” Price in Marysville. They resided in Wamego, Kan., where she was a dental assistant before returning to Marysville to raise a family. Dru’s life was defined by faith and love. She was a diligent student of the Bible and her godly devotion was evident in all aspects of her life. With that same passion and selfless spirit, she cared for her family. She spoiled them with her industriousness and skillfulness as a homemaker. She was a gifted cook, preparing meals and goodies for her family using food she worked hard to grow in her own gardens and dough she kneaded with her own hands. Her cinnamon rolls were perhaps most renowned of all her baked goods. She was also an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed creating baby blankets. She was a gentle and attentive mother and her children and grandchildren were without a doubt the light of her life. They fondly recall her spending time reading to them and sharing Bible stories. As her children became adults, she continued to display the same attentiveness, coming to their aid to assist with big or small matters, whether that meant mending a shirt, preparing meals, shoveling buckets of landscape rock, painting, or simply listening and offering advice and comfort. She was always working to enhance the lives of family and friends and willingly supported them in every way she could. With each new grandbaby Dru held, it was love at first sight. It quickly became a mutual adoration as those children grew. Her grandkids loved her intensely and her eyes lit up each time she saw them. She showered them with attention and affection. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Jim; children, Jessica (Dustin) Zutterman, Spencer (Teresa) Price and Skyler (Tina) Price; six grandchildren, Mercedes, Sander, Zoe, and Stella Zutterman; Isla and Sullivan Price; sister, Mary Ann (Le) Martin; brother, Thomas (Cathy) Lehechka; and mother-in-law, Catherine Price, all of Marysville. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
