Duane L. Blaske, 56, of Marysville, Kansas, died Monday, July 8, 2019 at his home in Marysville. Visitation services were held on Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. He was born on October 12, 1962 in Marysville, to Lyman Clarence and Genevieve (Sullivan) Blaske. Duane graduated from Marysville High School in 1980. He was united in marriage to Martha Dennis on October 18, 1986. He then enlisted into the U.S. Army, and served from 1986 until 2002, he achieved the rank of E-5 Sargeant, serving in Germany, Egypt, and during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. After being honorably discharged from the Army in 2002, he worked at Walmart and then at the RSMS at Ft. Riley, KS. Duane has worked at Landolls Corporation as a material handler for the last 5 years. He belonged to the DAV, VFW, and the Marysville American Legion. Duane enjoyed wood working, fishing, reading, and John Wayne movies. Survivors include his wife, Martha Blaske, Omaha, NE., mother, Genevieve Blaske, Marysville, daughter, Darlene “Dee” Tomlin, Topeka, KS., two sons, Ted Blaske, Omaha, NE. and Duane LeRoy Gary Blaske, Courtland, NY., sister Linda Gilbertson, nine grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. Duane was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Gary Blaske.
