Emily J. Larson, 23, a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend passed away on September 11, 2024, in Marysville, KS. She was born on November 26, 2000, in Manhattan, KS, to her loving parents, Ed and Julie (Carroll) Larson. Emily was a part of a close-knit family and shared a special bond with her sisters, as she was the youngest of the three.

Visitation was on Tuesday, September 17, from 1-9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m.

A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 18, at the New Hope Church in Marysville. Pastor Brad Wicks officiated.

The pallbearers were Chase Green, Cale Green, Micah Carroll, Cody Pacha, Dave Lanning, and Seth Schoenberger.

Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery.

Emily attended Marysville High School, graduating in the class of 2019. She continued her education at Southeast Community College. Emily had made a meaningful career for herself as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Operations Manager at The Lighthouse, where her straightforward nature and heartfelt dedication to the residents became a testament to her immense character. Her compassion was matched only by her commitment to care, as her heart found its purpose in caring for others.

Family was everything to Emily, and the time she spent with them was cherished. Her vibrant personality shone through in her many interests, which included painting by numbers, listening to music, playing cornhole, making pottery, and learning about the history of Marysville. She was a lover of nature and animals, especially turtles. Emily was an avid fan of the Oregon Ducks and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Preceding her in death is her grandpa, Larry Larson; and uncle, Brian Carroll. 

Survivors include her parents, Ed and Julie Larson, Bremen, KS; sisters, Kiley (Devon) Ward, Centralia, KS, and Macy (Michael Schell) Larson, Summerfield, KS; grandparents, Wayne and Deb Carroll, Marysville and Sharon Larson, Leavenworth, KS; aunts, Susan (Chris) Kivett, Kim (Steve) Green and Shawna (Ernie) Richardson; nieces, Gracelinn and Hadleigh Ward; and many cousins and friends.

Emily’s legacy lives on in the memories shared and the love she imparted. She will be profoundly missed but forever held close in the hearts of her family and friends.

A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
