Evelyn R. Richardson, 89, Marysville, KS, died August 9, 2020 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 12, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 4 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 13 at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville. Rev. Julie Shields will officiate. Organist is Deb Bruna and Wayne Kruse will sing "Living For Jesus," "Why Me Lord" and "It is No Secret." The congregation will sing "In the Garden." Masks are requested for those attending the funeral. The funeral will be broadcast live from the Kinsley Mortuary Facebook page. The pallbearers will be Andy Richardson, Warren Richardson, Mike Richardson, Jacob Richardson, Caleb Richardson, Joshua Richardson, Bryan Richardson and Daniel Richardson. The honorary pallbearers will be Katie Richardson, Jami Rose, Jenny Crome, Angie Garza and Crystal DePonty. Burial will be in the Marysville City Cemetery. Evelyn was born December 19, 1930 at Marysville to Daniel Fredrick and Lottie (Kloxin) Griswold. In 1948, she graduated from Marysville High School. On February 12, 1951, she married Warren Richardson at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville. Evelyn was active in her church, sang in the church choir, taught Sunday school and was a member of the Ladies Group. She helped with the soup suppers and potluck dinners. Evelyn was also a member of the Moose Lodge. She was a salesclerk at J.C. Penney for 25 years, worked 3 years for Semore Packing Company and babysat for 5 years. Evelyn loved roses, dancing, jewelry, sewing and fishing. She especially loved being with her family and attending her grandchildren’s events. The holidays were a special time and she would have family get-togethers on Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was particularly good at keeping up with her grandchildren’s birthdays. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren in 1984; parents-in-law, Charles and Anna Richardson; brothers-in-law, Milton, Charles Dean and Lloyd Richardson; and sister-in-law, Dee Griswold. Survivors include her sons, Dennis (Pat) Richardson, Dale (Kay) Richardson, David (Mary) Richardson and Don (Michele) Richardson, Marysville; brothers, Charles Griswold and Robert Griswold, Marysville; sister, Laura Loaney, Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren, Andy Richardson, Warren Richardson, Mike Richardson, Jacob Richardson, Caleb Richardson, Joshua Richardson, Bryan Richardson, Daniel Richardson, Katie Richardson, Jami Rose, Jenny Crome, Angie Garza and Crystal DePonty; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild due soon; and several nieces and nephews.
