Fred Conger

Charles "Fred" Frederick Conger, 92, of Axtell, KS, died March 15, 2023, at his residence. He was born November 6, 1930, near Axtell to Charles and Marie (Iseli) Conger. He graduated from Axtell High School. After high school he joined the U.S. Air Force. On September 1, 1951, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Worrall in North English, Iowa. They later moved to Wichita where he worked at Collins Avionics. In 1987, they moved to Axtell. Charles enjoyed working on radios and installing satellite dishes. He had a complete Corvair collection. Preceding him in death are his parents; sister, Mary Saville; and son-in-law, Michael McIntosh. Survivors include his wife; children, Jane McIntosh, Brownwood, TX, Joyce Ruth (William) Carroll, Wichita, KS, Robert (Karen) Conger, Andover, KS, and JoLaine (Gary) Day, Andover, KS; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 6 great great-grandchildren. Private family services will be held at a later date. Axtell-Landreth Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
