Gerald R. Harry, 80, of Marysville, KS, passed away on July 13, 2023, at Bryan Medical Center in Lincoln, NE, after 24 days in the hospital. Family and friends are invited to honor the life of Gerald at a funeral service to be held at 10:00 a.m., July 29 at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral. Burial with graveside military services will follow in the Beattie Union Cemetery. Gerald was born on October 29, 1942, in Home, KS, to Raymond and Alta (Gumm) Harry. In 1961, he graduated from Frankfort High School. He served in the Army National Guard from 1964 to 1970. Subsequently, he worked as a brakeman/switchman on the Union Pacific Railroad. He spent his free time collecting rocks and barb wire, going to the casino and horse races, and dedicatedly followed Kansas State University athletics and the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed his flowers and feeding the birds. He loved playing baseball when he was younger. Survivors include his sisters, Dolores Wanklyn, Frankfort, and Donna (Francis) Bramlage, Topeka; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Darlene Wanklyn. A memorial fund has been established and contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
