Glenys Anna Marie Pape, 98, died peacefully at the Frankfort Community Care Home on July 29, 2018. A funeral service was 10 a.m., Friday, August 3, 2018 at Padden Funeral Chapel. Rev. Jim Akins officiated. Music was provided by Steve Gleason. He sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Amazing Grace." Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Burial was in Frankfort Cemetery. On August 25, 1919, Glenys Anna Marie Plegge was born to Herman and Leah (Blaser) Plegge at their homestead northeast of Marysville, Kansas. She had two older sisters, Helene and Zylda, and a brother, Harold. Glenys and her siblings walked to school, unless the weather was bad, in Marysville. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1938. When her brother went to serve in World War II, she and her sister, Zylda, took over the family dairy and delivered milk around Marysville. She married Helmuth (Ted) Pralle, and he went to serve in World War II and was killed in duty on July 30, 1944, about 7 months after they were married. She later married Rudolph Vopata and had a daughter, Sheryl Ann, in 1947. They later divorced. On July 3, 1959, she married Edward Pape. He preceded her in death. She worked at Singer Sewing Machine, and then E. O. Weber and Son. She later worked at TC Convertors and Reust Liquor Store. She was active in the Frankfort United Methodist Church preparing meals for the Frankfort Rotary Club. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crosswords, croqueting, and her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Sheryl (Gerald) Gerstner. Three grandchildren: Jodi (Steve) Keating, Jerry (Shannon) Gerstner, and Jane (Charlie) Studer, and seven great-grandchildren: Chelsea, Jonathan, Julia, Jansen, Johanna, Jacqueline, and Caroline.
