Helene C. Glynn, 101, Marysville, died October 7, 2020 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., Friday, October 9 at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m., Friday at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, October 10 at St. Gregory's Catholic. Father Quentin Schmitz will officiate. The organist is Rosemary Forst and the soloists are Ron and Fran Grauer. Songs include "10 Thousand Resons", "Hail Mary: Gentle Woman", "Panis Angelicus" and "On Eagles Wings." Pallbearers are Daniel Schell, Kevin O'Neil, Bryar O'Neil, Eric Stichternath, Tanner Benton and Todd Osborne. Honorary pallbearers are Benjamin Miller, Chris Lewis, Shane Appel, Charlie Appel, Bennett Schell, Joshua Baugh, and Stratton Sweet. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Helene was born in Marysville to Hubert Nicholas Koppes and Catherine (Freitag); she was the youngest of their six children. She graduated from Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, KS, and attended business school in Lincoln, NE. She lived through all the major social, economic, and cultural shifts associated with the last century, and remained a faithful, devoted, loving Catholic through them all. She loved gardening, collecting mice figurines, singing, the holidays with her family, and any excuse to open the “hooch cabinet.” She will be remembered for her faith, generosity, baking, hospitality, and numerous other attributes. She was a paragon of virtue, and her family will strive to live by her example. She married Arthur Osborne and the couple had two children, Richard Osborne and Suzanne (Osborne) Appel. Helene later married Theodore Glynn in July 1977; they were happily married until his death on April 14, 1981. Survivors include her son, Richard (Ruth) Osborne of Grand Island, NE; grandchildren, Jill (Kevin) Murphy, Stuart, NE, Kathryn Osborne, Grand Island, NE, Emily Osborne, Grand Island, NE, Gina (Osborne) Schaffart, Aurora, NE, Todd Osborne, Giltner, NE, Terri (Tim) Fuller, Hutchinson, KS, Sherri (Rick) Baugh, Mesa, AZ, Kelli (Eric) Stichternath, Marysville, Jodi (Kevin) O’Neil, Beattie, KS, and Charlie Appel, Mesa, AZ. Helene was also a very proud great grandmother and great-great grandmother, and of her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; husband; daughter; grandson, Steve Appel and son-in-law, Harley Appel. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later.
