Ivan Sedlacek, 79, Frankfort, died January 4, 2021 at Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS. Visitation was Friday, January 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort. Mass of Christian Burial was 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 9 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort with a rosary at 9:30 a.m. Burial was at St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery in Marysville, KS. Ivan was born December 21, 1941 at Marysville to Edward and Viola (Lillibridge) Sedlacek. He attended Waterville schools and graduated from Frankfort High School in 1959. Ivan worked for Swanson Construction and Jeffries Energy Plant as a heavy equipment operator. He worked many years at the Beattie Farmers Co-op and Farmers Co-op Frankfort branch. He was also a farmer and a rancher. Ivan drove the motor grader for Vermillion Township. In his younger years, Ivan raised Arabian horses and won many national awards with his stallion, Dusty. He bowled on the Frankfort team and went to many tournaments. He liked to hunt and fish and just loved every minute he spent on the farm. On November 23, 1978, he was united in marriage to Jane Wassenberg at St. Malachy’s Catholic Church in Beattie. They were blessed with five children, Cathy, Christopher, Amy, Jay and Joseph. Ivan would attend the children and grandchildren’s sporting events and activities in Frankfort, Hanover and Owasso, OK. He also loved watching them participate in the county fairs. Ivan was a kind, humble and loving man, who loved his family immensely. He was a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother, Marvin Sedlacek. Survivors include his wife Jane; children Cathy (William) Lewis, North Carolina, Christopher (Melody) Harper, Owasso, OK. Amy Harper-Jacques, Frankfort, Jay (Jennifer) Harper, Olathe and Joseph (Stephanie) Sedlacek, Greenleaf; sister, Sharon (Richard) Barnes, Maple Hill; and 12 grandchildren. A memorial fund is established and contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel, Frankfort, KS.
