James “Jimbo” Francis Davis, 66, of Marysville, died November 26, 2020, surrounded by loved ones at Cambridge Place. He lived his life for Faith, and for Family. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 2, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. Masks are required for visitation and all services. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 3 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church. Father Quentin Schmitz will officiate. Rosemary Forst will play the organ while Ron and Fran Grauer sing. The music will include "Here I Am Lord", "Pan Angelicus", "On Eagles Wings", "Song of Farewell" and "Let There Be Peace On Earth". The pallbearers will be Johnny Tommer, Deavon Tommer, Drake Slifer, Lance Davis, Andrew Watt and Rick Bishop. Burial will be in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery. Jimbo was born August 29, 1954, he is preceded in death by his parents, James E. & Dorothy M. Davis. He attended St. Gregory’s Catholic Grade School and graduated Marysville High School in 1972. After High School, he pursued his passion for Basketball at Pratt Community College. He returned home and was employed by Georgia-Pacific for 37 years. He is survived by his siblings and their families: Gregory “Greg”, Topeka, Louis, “Ed”, San Antonio, TX, Elizabeth, “Sugar”, Topeka, Janet “Jan”, Tulsa, OK, and Paul “Pooh”, Prairie Village, KS. He always considered his greatest accomplishment, his children and their families: Lance, Sarah Hormann, James W., Kimberly and Tiffany Watt. Jimbo’s expertise and knowledge, from his coaching little league baseball and softball, to his Union involvement from work, and his overall grasp of the world, were passed along to his beloved grandchildren: Katelyn, Jonathon, Deavon, Drake, Lili, Violet, Henry, Cooper, Layla, Raygen, Payton and Elliot. He always loved a good laugh, a good ball game, and a KU win. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
