James "Jim" Anthony Voet, 79, of Marysville, KS, died September 17, 2023, at his home.
Visitation was Friday, September 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary.
A rosary service was held at 7 p.m., Friday, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville.
A funeral service began at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 23, St. Gregory's Catholic Church.
Burial was in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery.
Jim was born on April 13, 1944, in Marysville, to Fredlen "Fritz" and Helen (Moehlenstedt) Voet. He attended St. Gregory's Catholic School before graduating from Marysville High School in 1962.
He worked collecting eggs for Gilbert Koch until attending barbering school in Topeka, KS. His career began as an apprentice barber in Topeka before he made the decision to return to his hometown of Marysville. There, he operated a barber shop and later opened "Jim's Records and Tapes". Later, he delivered railroad crews to their trains and destinations.
Jim enjoyed watching sports. His passion was for the New York Yankees, Kansas State University and the Green Bay Packers. He also delighted in cooking, engaging in friendly card games with friends and family, and indulging himself with classic western movies.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lois Elaine Jaeger.
A memorial fund has been established to St. Gregory's Catholic Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
