James "Jim" R. Medearis, 87, of Frankfort, KS, died August 4, 2024, at the Frankfort Community Care Home.
A graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m., August 13 in the Frankfort City Cemetery.
Jim was born June 22, 1937, at Bell, CA, son of James Andrew and Eula (Barrett) Medearis. He grew up in New Mexico and at a young age joined the U.S. Army and was sent to Korea. He was honorably discharged. After a short time after his discharge, he joined the U.S. Navy for two years before returning home.
He joined The International Brotherhood of Boilermakers and worked at Sweco constructing steel tanks for over 20 years before retiring.
On March 20, 1976, he married Dorothy L. (Holmn) Leffler. In 1997, they moved to Frankfort. Jim was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Dorothy preceded him in death on January 21, 2019. He was also preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry Medearis.
Survivors include his stepchildren.
