James Zimmerling

James “Jim” Zimmerling, 54, Beattie, died Thursday, March 16, 2018 at his home. A graveside funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 24 at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery, Beattie with Father Nathan Haverland officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Tyler Zimmerling, Joshua Zimmerling, Tom Cook, Justin Skeen, Leo Connors III and Charles Pearson. Jim was born on March 13, 1964, to Ronald and Judith (Eck) Zimmerling in Marysville. He attended school in Marysville and worked construction in Topeka and for Dunlap Construction in Beattie. James enjoyed listening to rock music, fishing and country cruising.    He liked watching sports, especially KU and the Chiefs.  Jim was interested in history and kept up on current events.  He also had nicknames for all his nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his father, Ronald; and grandparents, Marie and Arnold Zimmerling and Matthew and Matilda Eck. Survivors include his mother, Judith; brothers, Greg (Barb) Zimmerling, Ralph Zimmerling, both of Marysville; sisters, Rita (Brian) Throm, Marysville, Gloria (Roger) Skeen, Beattie; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later.  Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
