Janet Sue (Suther) Johnson, age 63, of Frankfort, died Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Nemaha Valley Community Hospital, Seneca, Kansas. Janet was born on January 25, 1958, in Marysville, Kansas, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Ford) Suther. She attended Annunciation Catholic School and graduated from Frankfort High School in 1976. Janet previously worked for the Topeka State Hospital and Menninger’s in Topeka. She returned to Frankfort to help care for her parents. She was the current Treasurer and Assistant Sergeant of Arms of the local American Legion Auxiliary. Janet spent countless hours in her capacity as Committee Chairperson for the Cards, Flowers & Memorials; Hospital Gift Shop; Membership; Poppy; and Veterans Affairs/Rehabilitation sections and served on the Executive Committee. Janet enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. Her hobbies included her BUNCO club, scrapbooking, going to the casino and taking care of her three precious cats. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Emma Suther, two brothers, John Suther and Jerry Suther, and brother-in-law, Greg Fangman. Janet was survived by her three sisters JoAnn (Larry) Ronnebaum of Axtell, Judy Fangman of Seneca, and Joyce (George) Bauer of Hiawatha, and sister-in-law Karen Suther of Topeka, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A private burial service will take place at a later date at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Frankfort, Kansas. Memorials may be given in Janet’s memory to the Frankfort Ambulance Fund and sent in care of the family.
