Jason Rodney Smith

Jason Rodney Smith, 36, Beattie, died Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Centralia.

Private funeral services will be held later.

Jason was born in Marysville on February 6, 1987 to Lee and Julie (Linnemann) Smith.  In 2005, he graduated from Marysville High School.  Jason worked in maintenance for an agriculture firm.

He loved to cook, especially BBQ and had a barbeque food truck, he enjoyed working and sharing with his customers.  He also liked fishing and woodworking.  Most of all he loved spending time with his daughter, Kenzie.

He was preceded in death by his father; daughter, Jade Elizabeth Smith; and grandfather, Rodney Smith.

Survivors include his mother, Julie Mitchell, Tecumseh, NE; grandmother, Betty Smith, Beattie; and daughter, MaKenzie Smith, Beattie; siblings, Jeremy Smith, Tecumseh, NE, Cristina Hoynoski, Salida, CO, Kali Epke, Bazine, Kalvin Mitchell, Friend, NE and Billy Mitchell, Seneca; aunts and uncles, Rod Smith, Emmett, NE, Julia Pfannenstiel, Topeka, Ron Smith, Home, and Blaine Smith, Beattie.

A memorial fund is established and will be designated later.  Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
