Jeanne K. Gee, 67, of Marysville, Kan., died February 11, 2019 at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan, Kan. Visitation is Friday, February 15, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 16 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Marysville. Rev. Philip Miller will officiate. Grace Miller will play the organ while the congregation sings “The Lord is My Shepherd”, “When Peace Like a River” and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives”. The pallbearers will be Ryan Thomas, Alex Smith, Michael Schell, Daniel Schell, Seth Schoenberger and Mitchell Schoenberger. The honorary pallbearers will be Taylor Jesse, Eric Jesse, Chuck Green, Casey Keating, Brandon Smith, Ethan McElroy, Jacob Meybrunn and Levi Meybrunn. Burial will be in the Marysville City Cemetery. Jeanne was born June 2, 1951 at Garnett, Kan., to Donald and Marjorie (Kelley) Mitchell. In 1953, she was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Alma, Kan. On February 28, 1968, she was confirmed in Summerfield by Pastor Hessy. In 1969, she graduated from Summerfield High School. On December 16, 1972, she married Stuart Gee at Marysville. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2008. After her husband’s death, Jeanne enjoyed working for Twin Valley Developmental Services. She liked sewing, camping and fishing, bird watching and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart on July 25, 2008; parents; and sister, Mary Lewis. Survivors include her children; Jeannette Kay (Devin) Diehl, Beatrice, Neb., Fred (Wendy) Gee, Oketo, Kan., and Doug Gee, Home, Kan.; sisters, Alice (Ron) Green, Marysville, Rosalie (John) Meybrunn and Sherry (Jim) Scott, all of Summerfield; brother-in-law, Nick Lewis, Axtell, Kan.; six grandchildren, Jordan Virden, Hanna McElroy, Ethan McElroy, April Gee, Taylor Jesse and Eric Jesse; and three great-grandchildren, Charlotte Jesse, Kason Tyo and Leia Tyo. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
