Jenni Jo Schell, 38, of Marysville, KS, along with her unborn son, River Jo Henry Peeks, died January 2, 2020 at her home. Visitation was held Wednesday, January 8, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 9 at the United Methodist Church in Marysville. Rev. Dale Lewis will officiate. Stewart Ray will sing "Sissy's Song." Other music selections are "On the Coast of Somewhere Beautiful" and "I'm Your Angel." Pallbearers are Dustin Germer, Ryan Yager, Daren Habig, Nathan McCarn, Jesse Edwards and Ralph Zimmerling. Burial will be in the Marysville City Cemetery. Jenni was born on August 2, 1981 at Hanover, KS, to Jan Schell and Joni Nord. In 1999, she graduated Marysville High School and attended KU and KSU. She worked as a Paralegal for Galloway, Wiegers & Brinegar, P.A. Jenni was very active in her life. She coached the Marysville Swim Team for 10 years. Jenni was a master at crossword puzzles. She gave private swimming lessons and helped with the Jolly Jogathon for several years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She and John were working together on remodeling projects. She was fun loving and a good storyteller. Everyone was made to feel special and loved around her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joni Garcia; and grandfather, Mervin Nord. Survivors include her significant other, John Peeks; father, Jan Schell, Marysville; grandmother, Marjorie Nord, Marysville; aunts, Deb (Bill Harrod) Nord, Dallas, OR, and Phyllis (Dane) Clark, Roxbury; stepfather, Rick Garcia; cousins, Betsey (Charlie) Potts and Brendon (Tabatha) Clark; step brother, Richard Garcia; step sister, Andrea Garcia; and great nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established to the Marysville Swim Team or to the Marysville American Legion Auxiliary. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
