Jennifer Marie Horn, 44, of Bremen, KS, passed into the loving arms of the Lord at the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, KS, on February 9, 2022. Visitation will be Thursday, February 17, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A rosary service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, February 18, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Marysville. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Father Quentin Schmitz will officiate. MASKS ARE REQUIRED AT ALL SERVICES. The pallbearers will be Curtis Wassenberg, Gary Lindeen, Garrett Haverkamp, Brady Haverkamp, Rob Smith and Jim Smith. Burial will be in St. Gregory’s Catholic Cemetery. Jen was born on August 10, 1977, in Marysville. She attended St. Gregory’s Grade School, Marysville High School, and Kansas State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and International Relations. On January 8, 1999, Jen married Wyatt Horn at St. Isadore’s Catholic Church in Manhattan, KS. Wyatt and Jen were blessed with a son, Nathan, who was born on May 11, 2006, at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. At the time of her passing, Jen was employed at KNDY Radio in Marysville. She was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Jen was a vibrant young woman, a loving wife, mother, and daughter to her family. She loved her community and was especially active in local events. She had a zest for life, a ready smile, and an infectious laugh. Jen had many friends in the community, nationally, and internationally that included acquaintances in the United Kingdom, and Australia. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, calligraphy, travelling, and reading (she was an extremely talented seamstress and an accomplished cook). Jen will be sorely missed by her family, friends, and the community. Survivors include her husband, Wyatt; son, Nathan Horn; parents, Robert and Karen Smith, Manhattan, KS; brothers, Robert Smith, Jr., of Paola, KS, and James Smith, Manhattan; in-laws, Iven and Sandra Horn, Beattie, KS; and sister-in-law, Dawnell (Jim) Block, Austin, TX, and their children, Andrew and Elise. A memorial fund has been established to St. Gregory’s Catholic School. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
