Jill Mathy, 61, of Home, KS, died June 24, 2020 at her home. Visitation was Saturday, June 27 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. The family received friends from 4 to 6 p.m. A service was held at 5:00 p.m. Rev. Dale Lewis officiated. Burial services will be private. Jill was born on February 19, 1959 in Topeka, KS, to William and Valda (Dudgeon) Burney. In 1977, she graduated from Topeka High School. Jill attended Kansas University and Washburn University, earning her bachelor’s degree and becoming a CPA. On October 4, 1980, she was united in marriage to Brett Mathy at First Trinity Church of Topeka. To this union were born four children, Stephanie, Melissa, Brian and Gabrielle. In 1995, they moved from Topeka to Home City. Jill worked for Kickhaefer & Associates, Frese CPA and then managed Tier One/Great Western Bank in Marysville. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, gardening, the ocean, going to the lake and her golden retriever dogs. She especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Brett Mathy; four children, Stephanie (Sam) Cullimore, Manhattan, KS, Melissa (Dan) Ford, Springfield, MO, Brian Mathy, Home, KS, and Gabrielle Mathy (Ruben Jimenez Carballo) Madrid, Spain; six grandchildren; and a sister, Phyllis (Bill) Faulk, Wichita, KS. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
