The pallbearers were Todd Packett, Lucas Packett, Levi Packett, Gavin Johnson, Stephen Griffee and Grant Griffee. The honorary pallbearers were Logan Packett, Mark Griffee and Mitch Favinger. Burial was in the Home City Cemetery. Joey was born October 29, 1972 at Marysville to Stephen and Gloria (Foley) Packett. In 1990, he graduated from Marysville High School. He was proud to be a Bulldog. Joey worked as a laborer in a sheltered workshop and Landoll Corporation. He sorted aluminum cans, stripped negatives, counted and packed trash bags and folded boxes and wrist braces. He helped his dad with roofing, liked delivering Meals on Wheels and repairing bike tires. Joey never knew a stranger. He enjoyed family gatherings, dancing, swimming, fishing, catching and mounting a 7 ½ lb. bass, trips to the casinos and eating out. He also liked dressing up for Halloween and riding around with his sister. Joey liked watching Batman, Wonder Woman, Spiderman and Sponge Bob Squarepants. He had a snake collection and attended the Sun Belt Rodeo for many years. Joey always wanted to go to church with his mom, and wanted to sing, if only he had been able to read. When he was baptized, he shocked the minister with his long tail mohawk. Joey was always supportive and comforting of others in their loss at funerals. Joey loved giving his toys to his nieces and nephews and buying gifts for the family. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Christopher and Olie Roudybush; grandparents, W.C. and Violet Foley and Elaine Packett; uncles, Donald Schilling, Danny Foley, Richard Merrill, Randy Packett and Bob Packett. Survivors include his father, Stephen Packett, Beattie; mother, Gloria Packett, Sabetha; brothers, Todd Packett and Lucas Packett, both of Marysville; sister, Yvonne Favinger, Smith Center; sisters-in-law, Julie Packett and Jen Packett; brothers-in-law, Mark Griffee and Mitch Favinger; and nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
