Julia "Dude" A. Brower, 91, of Frankfort, KS, died February 11, 2025, at Stormont Vail in Topeka, KS.
Due to the predicted snowstorm and cold weather, the funeral service will now be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 28, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the First Presbyterian Church in Frankfort. Burial will follow in the Centralia Cemetery.
Julia was born on April 27, 1933, in Bigelow, KS, to John and Winifred (Shearer) Rinehart. She graduated from Frankfort High School. On June 9, 1956, she was united in marriage to Raymond C. Brower in Seneca. They lived in Topeka where she worked for Hallmark Cards.
In 1968, they moved to Frankfort, and she worked in her husband’s welding shop and for the local florist. Julia also volunteered at the Frankfort Community Care Home. She loved flowers, camping, fishing, and going hunting with Ray.
Julia was instrumental in establishing the Avenue of Flags in Antioch Cemetery.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Raymond in 2012; brothers, Harold Rinehart and William Rinehart; and sisters, Joyce Smith, Ruth McDonald, and Elizabeth Rinehart.
Survivors include her many nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established for the Avenue of Flags at Antioch Cemetery. Contributions may be sent to care of Padden Funeral Chapel, c/o Kinsley Mortuary, P.O. Box 147, Marysville, KS 66508.
