Kathryn "Kay" Wiltz

Kathryn "Kay" Wiltz, 82, of Marysville, KS, died February 6, 2020 at her home in Marysville. Visitation will be Monday, February 10, from 1 to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 11 at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville. Rev. Julie Shields will officiate. Debbie Bruna will play the organ while the congregation sings “In the Garden” and “How Great Thou Art”. The pallbearers will be Jerry Birdsley, Jerry Jr. Birdsley, Shaun Birdsley, Skywind Dice, James Birdsley and Jesper Winsea. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, in the Albany Cemetery at Sabetha, KS. Kay was born on October 8, 1937 at Robinson, KS to John and Mary (Barnhisel) Kreuzburg. She graduated from Hiawatha High School in 1957 and later attended the University of Kansas School of Nursing at the Medical Center in Kansas City where she graduated as a Practical Nurse. She practiced nursing for several years. She married Ralph Birdsley in 1959 and to this union five children were born, Jennifer, Jacqueline, James, Judith, and Jerry. They later divorced. On December 23, 1978 she married Edwin Wiltz at Hiawatha, KS. After marrying Ed she became a homemaker. She was an active member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ and enjoyed helping with the church soup supper and the Friday coffee group. She was also a greeter and usher at the church. Kay was a member of the VFW auxiliary and served as secretary. She and Ed enjoyed camping and traveling in their camper. She also loved going to the Bluegrass Festival at Strawberry Point, IA, country music, watching RFD TV on Saturday nights, and her dog Toots. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; brother, Lester Kreuzburg; sister, Julia Kern; and an infant brother and sister. Survivors include her children, Jennifer Birdsley, Topeka, KS; Jacqueline Rash (Donnie), Falls City, NE; James Birdsley (Lori Swanson), Frankfort, KS; Judith Birdsley (Robert Winsea), Reserve, KS; Jerry Birdsley (Sabine), Centralia, KS; two brothers, Arthur Kreuzburg (Olive), Colony, KS and John Kreuzburg (Rose), Hiawatha, KS; one sister, Mary Cramer (Richard), Great Bend, KS; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to the Evangelical United Church of Christ. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
