Kenneth E. Fairchild

Kenneth E. Fairchild, 82, of Frankfort, Kan., died Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at the Frankfort Community Care Home. Visitation was Friday, August 23, from noon to 8 p.m. at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort.  The family received friends 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 24 at the Vermillion Cemetery, Vermillion, Kan.  Rev. Virgil Warren officiated. The pallbearers were Mike Iseman, Tony Joyce, Lance Fairchild, Skyler Fairchild, Shane Fairchild, Larry Fairchild, Jr., Michael Fairchild, Jon Fairchild, Derek Fairchild and Bryan Brunk. Burial was in the Vermillion Cemetery. Kenneth was born March 7, 1937, near Frankfort, son of Elias Rich “Dick” and Nellie (Hidy) Fairchild.  He served two years in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Local 101 and worked construction.  He worked as a machine operator for Hall Brothers and worked construction in Missouri. Kenneth enjoyed singing and playing the guitar with his friends and family.  He loved model trains, old country music, Harley Davidson motorcycles and his beloved dog, Max. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverlee; step-granddaughter, Robin Brunk; infant brother; and siblings, Oliver Fairchild, Wayne Fairchild, Lyle Fairchild, Billy Mark Fairchild, Larry Fairchild, Ronnie Fairchild, Mildred Pearson, Helen Paden, Lois Iseman and Irene Joyce. Survivors include three brothers, Robert Fairchild, Buhler, Kan., Johnny Fairchild, Wellington, Kan., and Jim (Paula) Fairchild, Abilene, Kan.; sisters-in-law, Betty Fairchild and Jolene Fairchild; stepdaughter, Rexene Brunk; step grandson, Bryan Brunk; and many nieces and nephews.
