Leo Joseph Stallbaumer, 70, of Frankfort, KS, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at the KU Medical Center. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 24, from noon to 5 p.m. at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 25 at Annunciation Catholic Church. Father Anthony Chendumalli will officiate. The Eucharistic Minister will be Sylvia Wapp. Lectors will be Michelle Bruna and Christine Zieg. Marilyn Dressman will play the organ while Rheta Matson lead the congregation singing “Here I am Lord”, “Be Not Afraid”, “On Eagle's Wings” and “How Great Thou Art”. The pallbearers will be Mark Stallbaumer, Andy Fund, Ryan Smith, Matt Smith, Donnie Christener and Mike Christener. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Frankfort. Leo was born on July 8, 1951, in Marysville, KS, to Robert and Kathryn (Flaherty) Stallbaumer. In 1969, he graduated from Frankfort High School then attended Beloit Vo-Tech for two years before farming west of town for over 30 years. He then worked for Landoll Corporation for 10 years before retiring. On February 8, 1975, he married Connie Smith at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Marysville. They had three wonderful children. Leo was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church and was a Fourth Degree Knight. He served on the church board and Marshall County RWD #3 for many years. They belonged to a card group for over 45 years. He was very proud of his children and loved to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events. He would drive over two hours just to watch them play. They enjoyed going to Branson and spending time with the family. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Survivors include his wife, Connie; 3 children, Scott (TamiSue) Stallbaumer, St. Mary’s, KS, Sara (Shawn) Kirby, Solomon, KS, and Emily (Chris) Jordan, Manhattan, KS; 5 grandchildren, Riley, Tara, and Adelyn Stallbaumer, and Trevor and Brenden Kirby; 3 brothers, Robert (Judi) Stallbaumer, Jr., Frankfort, James (Sally) Stallbaumer, Rossville, KS, and Donald (Jan) Stallbaumer, Frankfort; two sisters, Mary Beth (Dennis) Fund, Wamego, KS, and Jean Ann (J.B.) Holland, Centralia, KS; aunt, Louise Wagner; uncle, Joseph Stallbaumer; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.
