Linda M. Crome, 72, of Bremen, KS, died February 15, 2023, at Community Memorial Hospital in Marysville. Visitation was Sunday, February 19, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. The family received friends from 3-5 p.m. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, February 20, at the Immanuel Lutheran (Hermansberg) Church, north-east of Bremen. Rev. Aaron T. Fenker, Sr., officiated. Kathy Pralle played the organ while the congregation sang “Amazing Grace”, “For Me to Live Is Jesus” and “I Know That My Redeemer Lives.” The pallbearers were Russ Spier, Chad Crome, Curtis Johnson, Jason Crome, Paul Oldehoeft and Kaleb Drinkgern. Burial was in the church cemetery. Linda was born September 4, 1950, in Marysville to Lawrence and Mary Katherine (Fincham) Johnson. In 1968, she graduated from Summerfield High School. On October 2, 1971, she was united in marriage to Gary Crome at Immanuel (Hermansberg) Lutheran Church. This union was blessed with two sons, Todd and Scott. Linda worked at the Bremen Elevator, Crome Grocery Store in Hanover and did the bookkeeping for the family business, Crome Truck Line. She enjoyed family gatherings, cooking and the Kansas City Royals. She attended her children’s and grandchildren’s events and babysat the grandchildren. Family was important to her. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carla Johnson; and brothers-in-law, Warren Drinkgern, Earl Oldehoeft, Dave Johnson and Kirk Crome. Survivors include her husband, Gary; children, Todd (Tracey) Crome and Scott Crome, all of Bremen; grandchildren, Brett Crome, Garrett Crome and Kali Crome; siblings, Ruth Oldehoeft, Hanover, Rose Ann (Ralph) Spier, Clatonia, NE, Lavern (Lynn) Heath, Andover, and Mary Lee Drinkgern, Bremen; and nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
